The topic of my Bachelor thesis is unnecessary kitchen utensils: what are they, why do they exist and why do people buy them.
I chose them as an example of that which is superfluous in our consumer society.
The book shows a collection of these utensils together with their advertising texts, consumer reviews, interviews, forum discussions and theoretical texts on consumerism. The images in the book are
a mix of self-made photographs, product pictures taken from catalogues and the internet, and stills of teleshopping-channels.
